What was your color palette? Why did you choose those colors?

Sage Green & Mauve (Earth Tones) ; Our colors were inspired by succulent colors, as succulents are our favorite plant and were the theme of our wedding.

What was the inspiration for the look and feel of your wedding?

Our entire wedding was based around succulents, as they are our favorite plant. When Kadin proposed, he set up succulents throughout the proposal space and proposed using a handmade succulent ring box with the ring inside, so succulents have a very special place in our hearts and relationship. We featured succulents and terrariums throughout the reception space with our wedding decor. Our wedding used lots of sage green and mauve earth tones. We even grew our own succulents to use as centerpieces!

Why did you choose to host your wedding at Celebrations on the River?

The minute we walked into Serenity Hall, we knew Celebrations on the River was the perfect venue for us. Serenity Hall was absolutely beautiful, the entire planning process went so smoothly, the food was amazing, and the staff truly helped make our day so special. Everyone at Celebrations is so kind, friendly, and helpful; it was an easy decision to choose Celebrations for our wedding reception!

What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?

Kadin: Being surrounded by our friends and family for our special day. It was such a perfect day, and being able to celebrate together and with our loved ones was amazing!

Heidi: Kadin and I wrote wedding letters and read them to each other during our first look. It was such a sweet and intimate moment that I will always cherish.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?

Our day was absolutely perfect, and we would not change a thing! We wish we could experience the day all over again because it truly was one of the happiest days of our lives.

What was one thing you obsessed over, but realized it did not matter?

During the weeks leading up to our wedding, we were very concerned about the constantly changing weather forecast. Some days, heavy rain was depicted, while other days it showed that our wedding would be sunny all day. Ultimately, it did thunderstorm on the morning of our wedding, and then again at night. It truly did not affect our wedding day, and we were so worried that it would. We even took some cute photos with umbrellas to be able to remember that it rained. They say it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day anyways!

What advice do you have for future couples planning their weddings?

A lot of wedding planning is often depicted as mostly done by the bride. However, for us, Kadin and I went to almost all of our wedding appointments together and were both equally involved in the wedding planning process. Some vendors were surprised he would come to the appointments, but it was important for us to both make decisions together regarding our special day. We would give the advice to couples planning their weddings to plan together, go to appointments together, make decisions together, and really just enjoy the entire process together because your wedding is a special day for you both and planning it truly together makes it just that much more special.

How did you manage your guest count?

Our final count was 127 guests. We were very intentional with our guest list, as we wanted to share the day with close family and friends. Creating our guest list together and doing so in this intentional way helped us ensure we were in the guest count range that we needed to be.

Who were your vendors? (DJ, Photographer, Flowers, Hair/Makeup, Dessert, etc.) How did you choose them?
