What was your color palette? Why did you choose those colors?

Dark green, gold, and white

What was the inspiration for the look and feel of your wedding?

A bit of botanical – leaves, flowers, nature, and a hint of wildlife – mixed with classic/vintage styles

Why did you choose to host your wedding at Celebrations on the River?

We absolutely loved the setting along the river, especially during the summer. The backdrop for our ceremony was stunning. It was also super convenient to have everything at one place so we could have our outdoor wedding but then move inside right away for the reception. On top of that, the staff is so supportive in making sure your day is exactly the way you want it.

What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?

Seeing each other for the first time that day, and also seeing so many of our family members and friends that we hadn’t seen in ages due to the pandemic. Being able to share the day with everyone we loved had some extra meaning to it because of that.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?

We would have loved more time to be outside during the day – that definitely got cut short due to the crazy weather!

What was one thing you obsessed over, but realized it did not matter?

I (Bri) printed out a copy of the timeline for the day so that everyone had it for reference, because I’m an overly organized human being, but it didn’t even matter once the day got started. Everything shifted around because of the rain, and honestly no one even noticed. Everyone else was on top of getting everything done, and time flew by so fast that we hardly ever even knew what time it was. Also – we had an incredible day despite almost 6 inches of rainfall, so clearly weather isn’t a big deal either!

What advice do you have for future couples planning their weddings?

Go with the flow and pause to savor any moment that you can. The day will go by so fast that you just need to make sure to take a minute to look at each other and soak in the fact that it is your wedding day and that you are there, together, living the day that you will remember for the rest of your lives.
