What was your color palette? Why did you choose those colors?

Mustard Yellow, Blues, greens, and tans. My husband farms, and we both like the rustic look. I love wild flowers, so I wanted it to be a boho/country/chic wedding vibe.

What was the inspiration for the look and feel of your wedding?

I love sunflowers and wild flowers, so the yellow is what stuck out to me to be the main color. The time of year we got married was perfect to fit these colors.

Why did you choose to host your wedding at Celebrations on the River?

Celebrations was exactly what we were looking for. We fell in love with River Park, it fit our theme exactly. The ability to get married right on a site was a major bonus, and all the greenery and flowers made it so easy for decorating! We also loved the hassle free options that Celebrations provided- catering, setting up and taking down, being able to come in early to decorate, being able to have our hair done on site, it was all stress free!

What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?

One of my favorite moments was doing the first look with my husband, and my son Mason. Our photographer got pictures of my son getting so excited for Ryan to see me. Another was how it down poured all morning, and about 3 hours before the ceremony, it stopped and ended up being a gorgeous day!

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?

I honestly don’t think I would change a thing, unless I could change getting married during a pandemic 😉 It was the perfect day, and our whole bridal party had a blast along with us.

What was one thing you obsessed over, but realized it did not matter?

I started obsessing over decorations for the wedding, but then realized that the venue (inside and out) was gorgeous just the way it was, so we kept our décor to a minimum. I had a hard time deciding on centerpieces but ended up finding something simple but still pretty to use.

What advice do you have for future couples planning their weddings?

Don’t stress over the little stuff, stay organized, have people in your bridal party who are willing to help you, and most of all have fun planning your big day! It goes by so fast, and I’m glad Ryan and I were able to enjoy each step of the planning and celebrating.

How did you manage your guest count?

We both have big families, so we started with the immediate family and just went out from there. With both having bigger families, we invited children from our immediate family, but then invited only couples to distant relatives and friends.

Who were your vendors? (DJ, Photographer, Flowers, Hair/Makeup, Dessert, etc.) How did you choose them?

DJ- DJ Dewy
My two cousins used him for theirs, I highly recommend him. He called a week or two before the wedding and got a feel of our likes and dislikes, and he did not disappoint!

Florist- FireFly Flowers Gardens ( Sandy Pehler)
She is the mother to my Maid of Honor. Sandy has her own gardens and does beautiful and affordable work. She is at the farmers market in Winona all summer and fall, and her flowers are just gorgeous. I would definitely check her out! She took what I had in my head for my flowers and went above and beyond what I expected.

Dress(es)- Wedding Tree
My Matron of Honor Kacia is the manager at The Wedding Tree, so I knew hands down I would be getting my dress there. She set my appointment up with Mel, and she was amazing! Me listened to what I was looking for and being a plus size gal, that isn’t always easy to find. by the third dress I found what I was looking for! I also found our bridesmaid dresses there and the groom & groomsmen items. We had a wrong size shirt the day of and was able to swing in, switch it out with no problems! Highly recommend The Wedding Tree!

Photographer- For HIS Glory (Artina Becker)
Artina and her husband blew Ryan and I away when we got our photos back. Her talent with the color scheme we picked turned out just beautiful. Artina was so organized and kept our large wedding party on track. I still can see her chasing my 5 year old son around and snapping some amazing candids of him, he definitely stole the show!

Videographer- Vision Media (Ryan Pitts)
Ryan did an amazing job with our wedding video. I think we watched it about 5 times when we got it back! He captured a lot of beautiful moments between Ryan and I , and also between my son Mason and I, and Ryan and Mason too. We have been to a few weddings since ours and are always excited to see Ryan knowing the couple’s wedding video is going to be awesome!
