Horizon/royal blue & light gray. Blue is my favorite color & Jay wanted to have grey suits, so once he picked the color gray, we picked out the blue that would look best with it.
What was the inspiration for the look and feel of your wedding?
We didn’t really care about having a theme or making everything look & go a certain way, we just wanted it to be a special day with the people we love & incorporate things we love, such as our cake topper, flowers & colors, etc.
Why did you choose to host your wedding at Celebrations on the River?
We loved the location & options Celebrations had to offer, it was also within our budget & it was really nice to get a VIP package that included so many things we wouldn’t need to worry about when wedding planning. I would do it all over again if we could!
What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?
I would say for actually getting married/exchanging our vows. I was nervous but so happy to finally be marrying the man of my dreams. Getting ready with my mom & bridesmaids was also super exciting too, just leading up to the big moment.
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?
The date so that we could have decent weather or our backup plan so that it was more grand. We weren’t able to get married outside, our slideshow never played because of the storm, we weren’t able to use the picture paths because everything was destroyed from the storm including the lights in the trees. I wish we could do it again.
What was one thing you obsessed over, but realized it did not matter?
Probably our wedding cake & some of our decorations, they were all great but not the most important things in our wedding.
What advice do you have for future couples planning their weddings?
Take as much time as you need to plan, budget well, don’t feel like you have to rush your wedding planning, explore all of your options so you get exactly what you want.
How did you manage your guest count?
The Knot, having a wedding website helped us keep track of just about everything from costs to RSVP’s, etc.
Who were your vendors? (DJ, Photographer, Flowers, Hair/Makeup, Dessert, etc.) How did you choose them?
- DJ: Ever After Entertainment
- Photographer: Sarah Schultz Photography
- Flowers: Willow & Ivy Design
- Hair/Makeup: Metropolitan Salon & Spa
- Wedding Cake: Crumbtastic Cakery
Our VIP vendors we chose based on their work/availability & convenience since we live in Rochester. Flowers were chosen because of cost, supporting local, & very easy to work with. Same with our wedding cake.
