What was your color palette? Why did you choose those colors?
Navy blue with falls colors. I found this color palette on Pinterest years ago and I thought it was so beautiful! The navy really made the fall colors pop.
What was the inspiration for the look and feel of your wedding?
I always knew I wanted a fall wedding because it has always been my favorite time of year. I used Pinterest for a lot of inspiration and Celebrations made my visions come alive!
What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?
Absolutely without a doubt walking down the aisle and seeing my husband for the first time. We did not do a first look, and I am happy we stuck with tradition!
Why did you choose to host your wedding at Celebrations on the River?
I used to work at Celebrations and always thought the setting was so beautiful, and staff always kept the rooms and grounds immaculate. The outdoor area with the lights in the trees has always been spectacular, and I knew it would make for a gorgeous wedding. I honestly did not know at my time of employment that I would choose Celebrations, but after coming back for a viewing a few years after I left, I had no doubt I would have my wedding here! The changes that have been made over the years is incredible, and it is truly the best wedding venue in the La Crosse area! All of the staff and coordinators are wonderful to work with, and taking advantage of the full decor package is so worth it! They set everything up, completely decorate the venue, and take everything down. It made the days leading up to the wedding stress-free!
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?
We had our ceremony off-site at a church, and that was important to us. However, I would have had the ceremony a little earlier in the day to allow more time for pictures. Unfortunately, we did not get to enjoy cocktail hour and see all our guests!
What was one thing you obsessed over, but realized it did not matter?
My hair! Due to COVID, I did have to change stylists a few times, which was stressful, but the end result was perfect.
What advice do you have for future couples planning their weddings?
Leave it up to Celebrations! You give them your vision, and they will make it happen! Honestly, they take care of everything and have a great list of recommended vendors. Celebrations made my wedding planning so easy!
How did you manage your guest count?
Unfortunately, COVID managed my guest count for me. We did make our list well in advance of COVID, so we first wrote down all family members. Regarding friends, we kept it to those who really have been present in our lives. I read an article before I even started wedding planning about managing your guest list. Think about your friend list if it is getting too long. How long have you been friends? How long has it been since you had a meaningful interaction with them? If it’s been a few years, you probably don’t need to include them!
